Who He Was
Valentin Agustin Rodriguez III, affectionately known as Gus, was a voice shaped by devotion, humility, and joy. His music was never meant to draw attention to himself, but to lift hearts upward, toward The Lord.
To those who knew him, Gus was warmth and kindness embodied. To those who heard him sing, he was a reminder that praise is not performance, but offering. Every note carried intention. Every lyric, a quiet testimony.
This album stands as a reflection of his life. Simple, sincere, and centered on giving glory where it belongs.
To God Be The Glory
A Dios Doy La Gloria
There are singers, (who sing with ability) and then there are singers, (who sing with that something special called anointing).
Whether you listen to this record or attend one of Gus's personal appearances, you will become aware of that SUPER BLEND of, singing with the best of ability and augmented by the touch of the Holy Spirit.
His unexpected, humorous remarks during choir travels is contagious. All the excitement and spirit that he emits in his personality is coupled with his love and appreciation to Jesus, as he transmits his songs to others reaching out in hope
God had a special reason to maneuver his life from Cuba to baseball; to Christ; and then to Calvary Choir. That reason is, that he might minister in song, with his God-given ability, relating to the world that Christ is the answer to all their needs.
The combination of Gus's dedication, faithfulness and yieldedness to the Holy Spirit has caused me to realize that my life has been made richer and fuller since we became acquainted

The word miracle is a much used word. Until you have observed or experienced one, the whole meaning escapes one.
To witness the transforming power of Jesus Christ in a person's life is awesome!
Gus is a sensitive, tender, loving person. Empowered of the Holy Spirit, all these traits were intensified resulting in an all engrossing zeal to do something for Christ for who did so much for him.
Jesus is real to him. Not only in his ministry but at home, everyday. consistently.
I love him very much.

The Rodriguez Family
I count it a privilege to be able to digitize this album so that many more may hear him worship The Lord and share his faith so that he can still minister to his family and friends long after he’s gone to be with his Father in heaven.
To the Rodriguez family, the legacy you all carry is a tremendous gift. Never take that for granted.
